| Paul Kelly`s R1200GS | | Paul has converted to 17 inch cast wheels. He says .."What it has done for the handling, has more than made up for the work involved ....oh and they are 10 times easier to clean than the standard spoked wheels. | John Macaskill's Classic Racing Outfit | | Fancy a go at this?
Here is John Macaskill & Les Cullen on their way to winning the over 50s Drivers race at Cadwell Park in September 2007. John is currently looking for a reliable passenger for this season and would welcome a pit crew assistant. Contact him on 0191 252 0691 evenings or 0191 497 7939 during the week.
John explains; 'The engine and transmission parts were all supplied by Motorworks and the project took about 2 years to get on the track.
Built on 1974 crankcase assembly with 980cc kit barrels and 1000cc heads with hardened valve seats and twin plug conversion. The Chassis is loosely based on the Deiter Busch design and constructed by TT veteran Rod Bellas. The wheels, forks and discs are Windle and the carbs period mikunis. Fibreglass by Martek except for owner’s own seat unit. Since completion the std gearbox internals have been replaced by a Nova close ratio set. 2007 proved the handling was sound and a couple of awards were collected. This winter a 336 degree sports cam and later 1981 clutch assembly have been fitted. This should see us having much more serious action in 2008.'
Good luck to him (and you?) from all here at Motorworks. | | Page 1 of 4
