| Bing 40mm alcohol resistant float bowl kit | FUA00001 | £152.75 INC VAT | |  This upgrade float and bowl kit consists of a completely different configuration zinc bowl, two rectangular plastic floats, a separate float arm, a new float needle, with clip where applicable, a new hinge pin, and a starter jet for the cold start circuit, plus full instructions. The benefits to be gained with this are increased fuel efficiency (average 6-7mpg), an increase in horsepower under acceleration and it is 100% alcohol proof and able to tolerate lower grade fuels. These gains are achieved by the completely different operation of the float system. Picture a glass of water fastened to your handlebars. Upon hard acceleration the water would go to the back side of the glass, up and out; the same thing occurs in your fuel bowl! The standard Bing float system is hinged at the back and supported by fuel at the front. During hard acceleration, the fuel is at the rear of the bowl, not supporting the pair of floats, which in turn fall to the wide open position, demanding and getting lots more fuel. After a short distance and decreasing rate of deceleration, the now overabundant supply of fuel begins to level out. The result is an over rich fuel mixture which results is loss of power, which you subconsciously add more throttle to compensation for. The new float system greatly minimizes the above condition by much greater control of the fuel level. This keeps the mixture out of an over rich condition and in the usable power range, and effectively prevents waste of fuel. The floats are entirely independent of each other and the float arm. With ever increasing fuel costs this kit will benefit commuters and high mileage riders and will give third world travelers peace of mind when filling up with low grade fuels enhanced with alcohol. It is also ideal for use in aircraft, hovercraft and microlights. This kit will fit all 2 valve twins from 1970 with 40mm vacuum carburettors.
