Here is an interesting RSRebuild apparently triggered by an accident involving a short haired pointer!
Ed's 1100GSNever trust your satnav - Ed took his wife's R1100GS for a gentle ride in the country and this is where he ended up
R1200GSR1200GS with Adventure tank, Givi screen, Motad pipes, hugger, crash bars, LED indicators and a HID headlight conversion.
R100 SpecialSimon says:"This is my R100 special crafted from 3 decades of 2 valve twin. No one told me that you can't kickstart a 1976 R100RS, yes all the starter system has been removed and that is a paralever swing-arm with mono wheels in a /7 frame. "
R80GS PDArnfinn says:"After visiting the Ural factory in Irbit (Russia) in 2007 I defiantly wanted to mount an Ural sidecar to my bike. The Ural bike itself is not reliable so I wanted to go for something more reliableJ. This is now my winter vehicle and perfect for real Norwegian winter conditions."
Modified R1200GSPaul Kelly has fitted our POA00001cast wheel conversion, he says "I did have some problems with the conversion but the end result as far as looks (not everyone will agree !!!) and what it has done for the handling, have more than made up for the work involved .............. oh and they are 10 times easier to clean than the standard spoked wheels".
Boxer Cup SpecialMartin says:"After having Yams & Hondas in the past, decided to try BMW & fell in love with my boxer cup. It ‘s a 54 plate & was a BMW demonstrator until purchased by a careful owner in York. I purchased it from him in 2006 and never want to sell it. It has since taken me to Bordeaux and back fully laden without a flicker...…no more Japanese for me!"
R75/5Don Langley from Leeds says "Here is my 1973 R75/5. Its main feature is the Motorworks R90S type fairing, along with the usual suspects of s/s exhausts, s/s nuts and bolts, new seat, and roller painted finish along with lots of other small items too numerous to mention. Various bits are actually wrong for the year, but overall I am very pleased with the result."
Slightly chopped R100/7Dr Thomas Bone-Winkel of Germany has done a lovely job of this 1978 boxer. He says "Your web page is outstanding and I can find all parts that I might need. It is most remarkable that I was not able to find any similar quality company in Germany. In any case, I am sending you some pictures of my slightly chopped 100/7. I am considering to add the S type fairing either new or used."
K75This is Manuel's K75, he says "This is my 91' BMW K75, upgraded with a K75 C windscreen. I buy the bike last year, a nice and healthy one with 60.000 km. Weekend to weekend, I overhauled brakes, front suspension, tyres all filters and oils, serviced oil pump. Clutch is fine, gearbox too. Happy to drive everyday my teenager dream. I don't want to restore to contest class, just to have it in the right shape until I must retire from handlebars!"
Modded 1977 R100RSDavid has made a few mods to his 1977 R100RS: CBR1000 forks and brake calipers with a K100 front wheel and discs and front fender from a VF750. RS engine with nikasil GS cylinders, GS clucth/flywheel and twin plug heads with Dyna dual coil electronic ign.
R100GS starter motor, airbox and top engine cover, gearbox and paralever swing arm fitting with an Ohlins shock and R100(or 80) mono cast wheel. GS fuel tank and and also the GS oil cooler.
Sub frame is from a Suzuki GS650, slightly modified to fit the frame and accept the oringinal R100RS seat. Homemade rack with Givi topbox and BMW panniers.
Apparently it now handles!
R1200C With An Interesting PastMartin explains: "Here's my BMW R1200C, which was used in the James Bond movie, 'Tomorrow Never Dies', starring Pierce Brosnan and Michelle Yeoh. Sadly, she no longer perches on my petrol tank.
After the movie was made, the bike was sold in a charity auction here in Hong Kong, and apparently a rich lawyer (is there any other kind?) paid 2.5 million Hong Kong dollars for it. He thought it might be an incentive for him to pass his test, but stuck it in a garage and never got round to it - and five or six years later he was transferred, asked a friend to get rid of it, and that friend was a friend of mine and inisted that I should buy it - for just HKD50,000 (GBP4000). It had 700km on the clock and I've been riding it ever since."
