Castrol Transmax Axle Long Life 75W-90 (Formerly SAF-XO 75W-90 and Syntrax Longlife 75W-90) is a fully synthetic multigrade final drive lubricant with excellent low temperature performance, load carrying ability and resistance to foaming at high temperatures and sustained high speeds. It also provides exceptional high temperature stability and oxidation resistance. It is BMW's recommended oil for final drive bevel boxes on R1200 models (not Cruiser) and the across frame K1200S/R, K1300S/R/GT range. It also suitable for use in gearboxes which are separate from the engine as in the boxers and older K models
We also stock a combined drainage tray and container (TOA00000) to enable safe and efficient disposal of waste oil. Please note: On R1200/R1250 liquid cooled models, BMW originally specified 75W90 GL5 synthetic oils for use in the gearbox and final drive unit. However, they have since changed this recommendation to 70W80 Hypoid G3 oil (part number OIA60128); we still recommend the use of a 75W90 GL5 synthetic oil such as this one as a cost effective alternative.
