The original BMW plug (ENA02292) is non magnetic, but many people prefer to fit this stainless plug with an integral magnet for added peace of mind.

This magnetic sump/oil drain plug can trap small metal filings and metallic micro debris on its surface, which might normally be held in suspension in the bikes engine oil, increasing engine wear.

A MICRON is one thousandth of a millimetre. Fine sand can be as small as 62 microns. Most good oil filters will not filter out Micronic particles in the 90 to 95 micron range and below.  This magnetic sump plug will pick up any Metallic 'Micro' particles that might otherwise be re-circulated back into the lubrication system. An excellent early warning indicator to the condition of your bikes engine. Simply wipe clean and refit at every oil change.
