Between the steel final drive output flange (that holds the rear wheel) and the crownwheel inner bearing TRA06690 is a steel spacer ring that the final drive output seal TRA29958 runs on. Inside that spacer is this O ring, which stops the ingress of dirt into the bearing. Not listed separately by BMW.
