Anyone who has had a flat battery on one of these machines will know the frustration of dismantling the bike to get at the battery to connect jump leads. From late 2003, BMW
introduced this neat arrangement to enable jump leads to be connected in seconds. This popular modification enables owners of older bikes to fit an easily accessible positive
terminal on the starter motor cover. The second image shows this kit fitted. (See POA72395 for an alternative kit which attaches direct to the battery rather than the starter motor.)
